Vectus PRT System

In 2004, TDI helped develop the design performance specification and styling for the revolutionary Vectus PRT "podcars".

During 2007, TDI productionised the design and manufactured 3 prototype cabins in conjunction with chassis suppliers WGH and specialist rail interior fabricators AVE Rail Products (now Compin UK) based at the Derby Carriage Works.

The PRT vehicles, which can carry between 4 and 6 passengers, are driven by track-based linear induction motors controlled by a centralised computer system.

A fully operational test track has been constructed in Uppsala, Sweden and is available for demonstration by appointment.
